DV Math Resource Library - Precalculus Summer Review

Just follow the 4 steps below to review previous math ideas so help you be successful in Precalculus. You don't have to turn anything in to your teacher, but you should be ready to take a quiz or test over this material sometime during the first two weeks of class.

Step 1

Print and take this pre-quiz:

Print the answer key and topic checklist:

Step 3

Grade your pre-quiz to see what you need to review. In the answer key, each question identifies which topic you should review if you missed that question.

Check off all the topics for the problems you missed so you'll have a list of topics which you need to review.

Step 4

Use the materials in the topic lessons below the FAQ to review only the topics you missed from your checklist.

For each topic, there is one or more review videos, 'practice pages' with problems you can use to practice, and a 'check your understanding' quiz to test yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions:

• How is this different from the previous 'summer packet'?
  The previous 'summer packet' was a set of multiple note and homework pdf files. We previously asked students to read all of the notes and complete all of the homework problems, and bring the homework problems to class to turn in. We then spent significant time in class reviewing this material before checking for understanding with tests/quizzes.
  
  The new 'math resource library' provides review videos and practice problems for each topic separately to allow students to review (on their own, outside of class) only those topics they need to review. Students should use the prequiz to find out which topics they need to review, and then watch the review videos and do the practice problems for just the topics they need to review. Each student may need to review different topics, so it is not necessary that students complete the practice problem worksheets for every topic - only review the topics you need to review.
  
  However, we will be spending significantly less time reviewing these topics in class, and you will take a test or quiz covering all of the topics in the review library during your first week of class, so review everything you need to review thoroughly.
  
  
• What do I need to turn in?
  You don't need to turn anything in (although it is a good idea to save any practice worksheets you completed so you can show your teacher what topics you reviewed.) Instead, you need to do whatever reviewing you find is necessary in order to be ready to take a test over all of these topics during the first two weeks of school (without having any review of this material in class).
